Kenjeran Park

kenjeran park
kenjeran park corner
At Ken Park there are many souvenirs and accessories stores. It was really fun to explore around. Most of the souvenirs and accessories available around Ken Park are made of seashells, pearls, and anything that authentic from the sea. From necklace, bracelet, to night lamp, they all contained fully sea products or partially only.

If you go to Ken Park, try Sate Kupang, a dish of satay of mussel or clam; my mother loves this dish very much; it was the first thing that she said was the reason she wanted to go to Ken Park with us ha-ha. I tried it but did not quite enjoy it in the beginning, I guess because it was my very first time; I did later on find Sate Kupang quite tasty after a couple of skewers though he-he. Most of the food vendors offer variety of meals and drinks; and they meals are pretty good. I am not sure what the condition of Ken Park today though, how it looks like after they changed it to Ken Park, but I heard the entrance fee stays the same, less than 1 USD.

Losari Beach

Throughout Indonesia, there is only one beach can be witnessed sunrise and sunset the same standing in one spot. I was initially confused by this fact. Outstanding beach stretching north-south is indeed able to witness the rise and setting of the sun in one position.
Losari beach is one of the most rehearsal and nice beaches I have ever come across Indonesia, and another great beach is located right heart of a big city. Comparing with some great beach cities in Java, Losari Beach free of garbage and comfortable visit.
Losari beach has very strategic position and became an integral part of the atmosphere of the city of Makassar, which stretched for approximately 4 kms. The beach is directly accessible by the main road the main protocol.
The most ideal time to visit is late afternoon Losari beach between the hours of 15:00 until 21:00 hours. Many who come here to sit down sit down to enjoy clean beaches, jogging along the pedestrian as far as 500 meters, or eat in stalls that have been relocated by the local government (the most southern tip of the beach).

Raja Ampat

raja ampat island
This small area in Indonesia has the richest coral reef life in the world. Kind of the coral reef epicenter of the planet. It's expected to soon become the first marine Unesco World Heritage Site. Unfortunately, the underwater housing for my camera had a little problem with leakage... so I didn't have the opportunity to do any underwater photography.
Apart from the reefs, this area also has some of the most stunning top-side views in the world; lime stone islands that reminds you of, but are even more dramatic than, the famous Rock Islands of Palau; big cathedral-like caves inside the islands; quiet lagoons with crystal white sand and water in every shade of blue and green; bird life such as the Birds of Paradise that brought Alfred Russel Wallace to this region over a century ago; the most stunning sunsets you'll ever see; and - almost no tourists...
I really liked this place.

One reason why I decided to prepare this site was that you won't find any information on this area in standard Indonesian travel guide books such as Lonely Planet. The Raja Ampats, located west of the Birds Head Peninsula, are administratively part of Papua Barat/Iran Jaya, but they are very different from the rest of west Papua, which the travel guides are focused on. Geographically and when it comes to nature, history and culture, the Ampats are in many ways closer to Moluku.
Raja Ampat* means "the four 'kings'", a name dating back to the 15th century, when the Sultanate of Tidore - one of the muslim sultanates in the original Maluku west of Halmahera - appointed four local "rajas" in Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo.

Even earlier, Seramese traders from small islands off the eastern tip of Seram had established trade settlements, sosolot, throughout the region, exchanging cloth, beads, and other products from western Indonesia for trepang, plumes, forest products and slaves from Papua. There where also a strong ties to the island of Biak east of the Bird's Head Peninsula.

And here the source!!!
